I'm quite happy with this since this is my first time trying to do a full-fledged photo-manip and it took me a whole day pretty much. The concept is its some distant future where the earth is submerged underwater. This mecha-fish is searching for something... I honestly would rather leave it up to your imagination though. Biggest challenge was getting the lighting to look as realistic as possible and finding stocks that worked (all stocks from sxc.hu and cgtextures, btw). A few elements are my own such as the hologram and the school of fish. Orginal file size is somewhere around 4000x3000.
Hope you enjoyed it! I have an alternatively colored version as well.
Definitely a great start for your first full photo-manip. The stocks work well together in the rock formation. They jumble up a bit under the fish, kind of hard to define what kind of object it even is. Not crazy about the text on the right side. You can definitely find a more appropriate font than that. But the fish and the lighting are great. And the colours work really well together. Deep sea feel with a futuristic neon vibe.
I agree with the part under the fish... its a bit convoluted. I used this font because I felt it was plain enough that it would work well with the image. If you notice even though I'm depicting a sort of post-apocalyptic future there's still a soothing feeling to the image, from the lighting to the fishy. Just thought it worked. If you have any specific suggestions I'd like to hear em.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
